How do you know kibble is properly soaked?

Kibble is usually soaked after about 20 minutes in warm water. For just-weaned pups, soak it in 40 C goat milk; after 15 to 20 minutes press with a spoon to confirm it is fully soft before feeding. But as the dog grows, reduce soaking time, and by about 3 months feed dry food, since continued wet food harms teeth and oral health.
