How do you keep arowana fish?

The arowana is a medium-large cichlid with strong territorial instincts, so keep it alone, in a tank of at least three feet to avoid stunting its growth. Use a black or dark-blue background to bring out good color. Good water quality is key: keep temperature at 26-28°C (slightly higher at ~30°C for juveniles) and install an effective filter. Feed small fish, shrimp, and pigment-free pellets, with the occasional bloodworm or earthworm.
