How do you groom a Bichon’s coat?

Before clipping a Bichon, pick a favored style for reference. Then bathe the dog, dry the coat while pulling it out so it becomes straight and fluffy; only then will the clip hold. Once prepared, start clipping.

If inexperienced, go lightly and trim bit by bit to avoid ruining it; usually clip one side of the face, align the other, then step back to check and refine.
