A full Golden Retriever’s belly looks rounded like a small paunch. After eating it will quietly go to rest or play; if still hungry it licks the empty plate or gives you pleading looks.

Some Goldens are picky and refuse kibble even when hungry; in that case remove the food within 10 minutes and give nothing else to avoid bad habits.
