Full-body twitching and unsteady walking may come from calcium deficiency, canine distemper, epilepsy, poisoning, or encephalitis. First, without regular calcium, sudden unsteadiness and twitching may be deficiency; sudden twitching also suggests poisoning, often with foaming at the mouth. Second, if odd signs appeared earlier and lasted, think encephalitis or distemper, whose later nerve symptoms are uncontrolled twitching, tremor, and head nodding, sometimes after fever and poor appetite. Also, if twitching stops and returns, it may be epilepsy. Whatever the cause, see a vet promptly.
