Canine bone lysis can be treated conservatively or surgically. Surgery with a support frame is costly, needs multiple operations, and carries higher recovery risk. Conservative treatment can use bone stem cell injections – the cells become bone and cartilage, helping rebuild and reshape marrow, though also not cheap – with daily calcium and vitamin supplements.
Later, if bone lysis is very severe and the outer skin of the limb is already abnormal, further conservative treatment is no longer possible, and amputation surgery must be considered.
