Cats will eat bones, because as carnivores the meaty smell attracts them. But it is not advised to feed cats bones. First, a cat’s stomach cannot fully digest hard bones, so eating them can cause intestinal blockage, constipation and vomiting.

Second, bones like chicken, duck and fish are especially sharp and can cut the cat’s mouth or intestines, or get stuck in its throat.

Finally, bones have little nutritional value, so there is no need to feed them. To supplement calcium, give calcium tablets or powder instead.
