1 When Cats Tolerate Hugging
Most people picture cats as cold and detached, so it’s no surprise many don’t care to be cuddled. Beyond temperament, a long-haired cat in hot weather gets fretful and wants no squeezing. Not every cat rejects it, though: raised together from a kitten and held often, a cat grows used to you and comes to accept, even like, being held. If you’re still strangers, don’t insist, or its instinct may scratch you. The best bond is built from kittenhood, when the cat is readier to grow close.
