Crating vs free-roaming a dog — what’s the difference?

Long-term crating isn’t recommended. Crated dogs have limited space, risking poor bone development or even deformity, and tend to become introverted and timid with weak adaptability, overreacting once outdoors. Free-roaming dogs are usually more affectionate, lively, adaptable, and healthier. But free-roaming dogs more easily meet stray dogs carrying parasites and disease, raising infection risk. The best approach is to let the dog roam freely at home with daily walks — better for its physical and mental health.
