Can ringworm spread from cats to dogs?

Ringworm can be transmitted to dogs. It is a skin disease caused by fungi such as Microsporum canis and Trichophyton, and can spread to dogs or other cats through direct or indirect contact; if the owner has weak skin immunity, they may also be infected. Therefore, if a cat is infected with ringworm, it should be isolated promptly—temporarily keeping it in a cage or a small room—and gloves should be worn when contacting the cat, with hands washed and disinfected after applying medication. In addition, the home environment should be disinfected regularly to prevent dogs from contacting fungal contaminants and becoming infected.
