Can cats eat lettuce?

Cats can eat lettuce, but it is not recommended in large amounts. Lettuce contains a variety of fibers, vitamins, and minerals and is low in calories, so moderate feeding promotes gut movement and digestion and is good for overweight cats.

But cats are carnivores after all, so they shouldn’t eat too many fruits and vegetables at once, or they may suffer indigestion with soft stools or diarrhea. Also, young kittens are generally better off not eating lettuce, because their digestive systems aren’t fully developed and lettuce can cause diarrhea and dehydration.
