After becoming pregnant, a dog usually gives birth at 58-65 days, about two months. A first pregnancy tends to be longer, possibly 65-70 days. Before labor, signs include reduced appetite, faster breathing, abdominal pain, more frequent drinking and urination, whining, nesting, and a drop in temperature. If the dog passes its due date with no signs of labor, take it to the veterinary hospital to check for false pregnancy or dystocia.
