It cannot be said that turtles fear a particular color, but they may be sensitive to very bright colors such as pink, red, and yellow. For the turtle’s environment, dark colors like blue, black, and green are recommended, ideally slightly transparent; avoid red, since a closed red space usually makes turtles irritable and affects appetite.

Scientists have confirmed from the turtle eye’s physiology that the retina has few cone cells, so their color discrimination is poor, but they are not color-blind.
