If a cat’s paw pads feel hot after vaccination, use a thermometer to take its temperature; above 39.2°C means the cat has a fever. This may be a normal reaction to the vaccine, and you can first try physical cooling.

If the fever hasn’t eased 24 hours later, take the cat to a vet promptly to check for infection or an allergic reaction.
