A red, moist bump on the belly is commonly bacterial superficial pyoderma or eczema. If possible, take the cat to a vet for a skin scraping to confirm the cause.

During treatment, first fit an Elizabethan collar so itching does not lead to excessive licking and inflammation. Then rinse the belly with saline, clear the pus, and disinfect with diluted hydrogen peroxide or iodine, then apply an antibacterial medication. Oral antibiotics or a weekly medicated bath can speed recovery.

Also disinfect the cat’s environment and keep it dry and clean.
