Why Dogs Don’t Fight Back When Beaten

Why dogs are loyal has an important link: during long domestication, any dog with aggression was eaten, leaving only gentle, non-aggressive ones to breed – passing tame genes down.

It is genetic. Dogs evolved from wolves. Some wolves that could not survive in the wild, or smart ones, found coexisting with humans raised survival odds. But if wolves were useless to humans, they would not be allowed close; so wolves learned to watch for danger and alert, and people found them useful and allowed closeness – dogs still carry the guarding gene.

Those who keep rural native dogs usually do not control them much, so they are freer and experience more than pet dogs. Because we feed them daily, they feel grateful to the owner, so when beaten they are not angry.

Of course, today’s pet dogs are specially selected, mostly non-biters with gentle temperaments. Though they cannot guard like native dogs, they can act cute for the owner’s favor.

In the end, a dog is a grateful animal. We raised it; even when beaten it will not hold it against the owner. Especially the rural native dog, which holds a place in many hearts, is very spirited and absolutely loyal.
