The same applies to other watery fruits and vegetables — best to limit them. Always wash produce well and dry the surface before feeding to lower the risk of loose stools.
2 A Proper Rabbit Diet
As herbivores, a rabbit’s staple is grass such as timothy hay. Pellets (concentrated feed) also supply the crude fiber rabbits need. Alongside pellets, they need coarse feed — hay — not just for nutrition but because their teeth grow continuously and must be worn down by chewing; overgrown teeth badly affect eating and can be fatal. So always provide hay. As treats, give small amounts of juicy vegetables like cabbage, celery and carrot. Keep the amount controlled and they do no harm.
