A lot of white dandruff on the outer ear is very likely from a fungal infection. You can check with a Wood’s lamp; a fluorescent reaction basically confirms fungus. To see if other pathogens are present, consider a skin scraping at a vet.
If fungus is confirmed, use antifungal skin medication containing terbinafine hydrochloride, compound ketoconazole, or itraconazole. Also clean and disinfect the enclosure regularly to reduce bacterial and fungal infection.
