Cephalosporin drugs are fairly low in toxicity. If the dog took only one or two extra pills, it usually isn’t serious; give more water to support metabolism and watch closely.
However, some dogs have sensitive stomachs and may show nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea. If that doesn’t improve, stop the drug and visit a vet. In cases of large ingestion, poisoning can occur, with signs like abdominal pain, vomiting, bluish mucous membranes, confusion, and blood in the urine.
