What happens if a mosquito bites a dog?

A mosquito bite may cause: first, the saliva has anticoagulant and formic acid that can cause skin allergy – redness, itch, even inflammation. Second, mosquitoes spread diseases like heartworm and viral encephalitis; a mosquito biting a sick dog then a healthy one can transmit them.

Finally, many mosquitoes may disturb the dog’s sleep and, in severe cases, cause fever and lethargy.
