What does a genuine Pug look like?

A genuine Pug has a large, round head with a clear stop and many deep facial wrinkles; large, round, dark eyes with a soft, expressive look; a short, flat nose with open nostrils; and a short, wide, upturned muzzle. In addition, the Pug’s ears are thick, set high, and fold down in a V shape close to the head.

Its body is compact with short, sturdy legs, a deep broad chest, a flat back, and a slightly rounded loin. The legs are straight and muscular, front legs slightly bent, hind legs strong. Finally, the Pug’s tail curls tightly against the back in a spiral or ring, with a short, dense, soft, glossy coat.
