When can a Samoyed be bred?

Samoyeds usually have their first heat at 6 to 8 months, but breeding is generally recommended at the second heat. At the first heat the body is not fully mature, and early breeding can affect offspring quality and the dog’s development.

The second heat typically comes after one year, when the body is essentially mature; breeding can then be done on days 10 to 13 of the heat.
