1. What are the symptoms of a rabbit cold?

Main signs: sneezing, runny nose, poor appetite, coughing. The sick rabbit’s eyes are half-closed with tears, conjunctiva red, nose tip red, with clear mucus from the nose, lethargy, weakness, chills, and shivering.

A rabbit cold mainly comes from upper respiratory infection, usually viruses, bacteria, or mycoplasma, most often a mixed viral-bacterial infection. Without timely care, it can spread to the lungs and cause pneumonia.

2. Can a rabbit cold heal on its own?

Most cannot. A few with strong immunity may recover early on, but that’s rare, and letting it self-heal is risky, the illness worsens and may become life-threatening.

3. What medicine is good for a rabbit cold?

1) Compound aspirin, half a tablet for babies, one tablet for adults.

2) 1 percent ephedrine drops in the nose, 3 to 4 drops each time, 3 times daily.
