How do I care for a ryukin goldfish?

The ryukin is an easy ornamental fish. Prepare a roomy tank with a filter, heater, and air pump, and a layer of substrate on the bottom.

It likes deep water—about 40cm, or 45–50cm for larger fish—and a temperature of 18–25°C. Feed small amounts often, mainly daphnia, bloodworms, and commercial food.

Change 1/4–1/3 of the water weekly and clean the filter regularly to keep water stable.
