Dog tartar isn’t something you can simply remove at home. If the buildup is significant, take the dog to a veterinary clinic for an examination and have it scraped away with professional tools.
During cleaning, if any teeth are found to be seriously loose, they should be extracted promptly to avoid later gum inflammation.
If the tartar is mild, you can gently wipe with dental powder and regularly give the dog chew sticks to help clean its mouth and teeth. This won’t completely remove existing tartar, but it can reduce it somewhat and prevent it from getting worse.
