Budgerigars generally like to play with rattan balls, swings, and ladders. The toys you pick for your parrot should ideally be simple, free of sharp edges, unpainted, and easy to clean.

Ladder-style toys let budgerigars hop up and down, and they tend to enjoy them a lot. However, it is not recommended to give such toys to very young budgerigars, because their balance is poor and they can easily get trapped between the rungs, which is risky.
