What surgery is needed for a dog’s dislocated shoulder?

A dog’s shoulder dislocation usually needs closed reduction. There are two methods: closed reduction with fixation, and surgical treatment. Closed reduction fits trauma-induced dislocation and is done under general anesthesia.

If closed reduction works poorly, or the shoulder is habitually or chronically dislocated, surgery may be needed.
