How often does a pineapple cichlid breed?

The pineapple cichlid breeds at a high frequency: a female can lay a second batch of eggs 10 to 15 days after the first. However, very frequent breeding is generally not recommended, as it can affect the health of the female and her offspring.

The pineapple cichlid reaches sexual maturity at around 6 months, and with good management its breeding results improve, raising both egg and hatch rates. During breeding, keep the water temperature between 24 and 28 C.
