Sudden hind-leg paralysis has several possible causes: disc dislocation, strong trauma causing pelvic fracture and nerve or muscle damage, other bone problems, nerve pressure from a foreign body or tumor, encephalitis, or low calcium and trace elements.

The big belly and no toileting may be defecation dysfunction after paralysis, and fracture or nerve pressure easily causes constipation or incontinence. Only a full vet exam with X-ray, CT, or MRI can set the best plan.
