How long can a giant salamander be kept?

The giant salamander has a very long life, generally 50 to 60 years and longer with proper care. Captive ones may be shorter, around 40 years.

To extend life, provide stable, clean water at 23 to 26 C for healthy growth, and ensure enough space so growth and activity are not affected.
