How long for a lump from an injection to disappear?

Expert Answer

A lump after an injection usually subsides in about 2 to 3 days. Injections are often subcutaneous, and if the skin does not absorb the drug well a lump forms, but it goes away on its own in 2-3 days.

To speed it up, apply warm compresses, controlling temperature so as not to burn the dog.
