A pig-nosed turtle can stay out of water 1 to 2 days; how long it survives without water depends on humidity. It is a deep-water turtle strongly dependent on water, and long absence seriously harms health. In hot weather it dehydrates fast and may die in under a day; in humid weather dehydration is slower and it survives longer, but prolonged absence still weakens and eventually kills it. Keep it in deep water and avoid long absence.
