How long can a newborn rabbit survive without nursing?

A newborn rabbit faces life danger if it goes over 24 hours without milk. It need not eat at once, but must nurse within 24 hours of birth or it may die.

Mother’s milk is best; otherwise use goat milk. The doe nurses about once a day for 5 minutes. Do not touch kits by hand, or the mother may reject them over the smell.
