At What Age Do Lovebirds Start Breeding?

Lovebirds generally reach sexual maturity at 6 to 7 months and can breed then. They can breed year-round, but summer breeding is discouraged, so remove the nesting box in summer. They have 3 to 4 clutches a year, 6 to 8 eggs each, with a 20-day incubation. Although capable at 6 to 7 months, breeding after 1 year improves fertilization and offspring survival.
