Why is my cat losing fur under its eyes down to the skin?

There are many reasons a cat loses fur under the eyes, such as fungal infection, bacterial infection, eye inflammation, allergy, or wounds, which bring itching, frequent scratching, dandruff, and hair loss. First, put an Elizabethan collar on the cat to stop scratching, then take it to a vet for a microscopic exam of the fur around the eye to find the cause before treatment. If a vet visit is impossible, keep the corner dry, clean the discharge, and use a Wood’s lamp to rule out fungal infection; if ringworm is excluded, disinfect the wound and feed nutrients that promote follicle growth to help the fur recover.
