For the past three or four days, my cat has developed what look like scratched blood scabs above both eyes, and they are increasing. What disease is this and how is it treated?

Redness, broken skin, and scabbing above a cat’s eyes suggest local skin damage and infected inflammation caused by external force and over-scratching from itchy skin disease, leading to these symptoms. If possible, go to a hospital for skin scrapings, allergy checks, and parasite exams to find the cause of the itch.

If a visit is not convenient now, first prepare an Elizabethan collar at home to stop further scratching, disinfect the area with iodine, then apply a pet-specific broad-spectrum antibiotic ointment twice a day until the wound improves. For a whole-body infection, give oral broad-spectrum antibiotics; most importantly, prevent the cat from scratching or licking the affected skin.
