What happens if a hamster does not drink water in summer?

In summer heat and humidity, a hamster easily becomes dehydrated, showing thirst, dry skin, poor appetite, and low energy. Without water, body fluids drop and temperature rises, raising the risk of heatstroke.

Low water also concentrates urine and can form stones, leading to cystitis and urinary infection. Always provide clean water in summer, and if you see thirst, poor appetite, or lethargy, take the hamster to a vet.
