Generally a golden retriever puppy can eat dry food after 4 months of age. Before 4 months its digestive system is not fully developed and dry food can easily cause indigestion, so after weaning it is best to feed goat milk powder for a while, then add some puppy food softened in the milk. From weaning to 4 months, feed mainly wet food.
After 4 months the puppy can usually eat puppy kibble directly and digest dry food well, but if its stomach is still fragile, delay dry food to avoid discomfort.
