What does a healthy Bichon ear look like?

A purebred Bichon’s ears hang down and are hidden in the fluffy, curly coat, not exposed. Healthy ears should stay clean and dry; a bad smell, excess discharge, red swollen canals, ulcers, frequent scratching, or head shaking may mean ear mites or infection needing prompt treatment.

Check the ears regularly and keep the dog dewormed to avoid ear mites.
