How long after giving birth can a mother dog be bathed?

Expert Answer

A mother dog can bathe one month after birth. Bathing soon after is not advised because the uterus is still open and infection is easy, and the weak mother may catch cold, which would affect nursing.

So bathe her after her strength returns, about a month later.
