How to Tell If Cat Food Has Gone Bad

Spoiled cat food may be moldy, damp or greasy, all visible to the eye; do not feed it if the look is off.

Normal food smells good or neutral; spoiled food may smell sour.

Cat food has a shelf life; avoid expired or near-expiry food, and if the bag leaks or is damaged when opened, do not feed it.

Bad food can cause diarrhea, vomiting and indigestion; consult a vet for any abnormal signs.
