Can a 2-month-old kitten’s pelvic fracture heal on its own?

X-rays show fractures at the pelvis and femoral head that are very unlikely to heal on their own, so promptly visit a hospital for an internal fixation plan to avoid incontinence, paralysis or lameness from delay.

Neither fracture will heal if delayed too long. Untreated pelvic fracture can later cause pelvic muscle atrophy and pelvic narrowing, affecting defecation and urination.

An unaddressed femoral head fracture easily leads to femoral head necrosis and osteoarthritis. If possible, go to a hospital and follow the vet’s effective surgical plan.
