After exercise a dog usually pants heavily, with a fast heartbeat and elevated temperature, but these ease after a short rest. Do not let it get wind or air conditioning immediately, or its temperature swings and immunity drops, easily causing colds.

Also, short-nosed breeds like Bulldogs and Pugs must not do intense exercise, or they may have breathing difficulty, coughing, and limb weakness.
