How does a dog react when its owner comes home?

When a dog sees its owner come home it is usually very excited and happy. Many dogs wait by the door in advance, and the moment the door opens they wag their tails rapidly and make whimpering sounds to act cute toward the owner.

Some dogs that are very excited may directly pounce on the owner, which is a sign that the dog treats the owner as the boss. Finally, if a dog stays calm or hides when the owner comes home, it usually means the dog has not yet bonded with the owner or feels guilty after misbehaving.
