Crying at midnight.

A cat crying through the night may be caused by estrus, physical discomfort, lack of security, or hunger. First, cats begin estrus around 6-8 months of age, and both males and females may howl around the clock; if you have no plans to breed, have the cat spayed at a pet hospital after estrus ends.

Second, a physically unwell cat will also keep crying, so pay attention to its appetite and mental state, and visit a pet hospital if anything is abnormal. A newly arrived cat may cry frequently from insecurity, which usually improves within 1-3 days of adjustment. Finally, a hungry cat will keep crying, so feed it on a fixed schedule with consistent portions.
