The Labrador is gentle, lively, very friendly, not picky, and fairly easy to keep. It is also smart and obedient, so easy to train, and many groups train it as a guide dog.

But it is very athletic and energetic, needing at least 2 hours of exercise daily, suiting owners with free time who like sports.

If confined long-term without exercise, it may destroy things, bark, and misbehave.
