Normal puppy stool is brown-yellow, cylindrical, smooth and slightly soft but not too loose or dry. Hard pellet-like stool means constipation, likely from little exercise or insufficient water; feed greens, fruit and water with fiber to aid gut movement.

If the stool is too loose with much water, that is soft stool and diarrhea; keep the diet light and feed probiotics, and if severe see a vet to check for parasites or parvovirus.
