Before 45 days of age, feed warm milk, yogurt or goat milk formula every 4 hours; goat milk is preferable for higher nutrition. Keep the squirrel warm, since babies are weak with low resistance and easily fall ill or die in the cold. After 45 days, add small supplements like pine nuts, almonds and hazelnuts, 3 times a day.

A 1-month-old can also eat sunflower seeds, but preferably raw; if not raw, choose plain roasted ones, since salt makes the fur brittle and rough.
