Pet hamsters do not need to hibernate. In winter keep the environment around 25°C to prevent them from entering a false hibernation state, which is very harmful to their health. If a hamster enters a false hibernation state, the owner must wake it up promptly, otherwise it may die after about 3 hours, and the longer it lasts the greater the chance of death.

If a hamster enters a false hibernation state, the owner can revive it by warming it up and giving it oral glucose.
