What happens if a guinea pig eats meat?

Guinea pigs are strictly vegetarian, and meat causes indigestion with vomiting, diarrhea or even death. Feed mainly hays like timothy, alfalfa, barley and wheat grass, with occasional small amounts of fruit and vegetables.

Control the amount, since fresh produce is watery and also upsets the gut, causing diarrhea.
